These cabins offer more than just a place to stay —they’re designed to immerse you fully in the natural world, blending seamlessly with the surrounding environment.
From the very beginning, our goal was clear: to create cabins that capture the spirit of the boreal forest. To bring this vision to life, we teamed up with Stéphane Gagné, a professor of architectural technology at Cégep du Vieux Montréal. Together, we developed a unique concept inspired by the tree in all its forms — from its roots to its crown.
🌿 From Roots to Summit: Nature as a Blueprint
This guiding concept shaped the entire project. Each of the four cabins represents a distinct part of a tree, both symbolically and architecturally.
La racine 🫚
As the first cabin in the series, La Racine sits low to the ground. Its deep brown tones evoke the hidden roots beneath the forest floor. Wide, low-set windows bring you closer to the earth and encourage a grounded connection with your surroundings — as if you were rooted there yourself.
L'Écorce 🪵
Lighter in colour and more spacious than La Racine, this cabin symbolizes the trunk — the strong, vertical link between the ground and the canopy. Covered in cedar shingles, the exterior has a warm, textured feel, much like natural bark. Slim, vertical windows enhance the sense of height while softly drawing in dappled light from the forest.
La Sous-bois 🌿
Wrapped in rich greens and earthy browns, this cabin reflects the dense foliage and low branches of the forest’s underbrush. Elevated over two floors, it features a main living area below and a bedroom tucked away upstairs. Tall windows stretch from floor to ceiling, letting in ample natural light and framing the vibrant forest outside.
La Cime ☀️
Perched on stilts, La Cime rises above the rest, echoing the top of the tree where sunlight is strongest. Its soft white exterior captures the glow of filtered sunbeams high in the forest.
Like The Underbrush, it spans two levels — but in reverse. The bedroom is located on the lower floor, while the main living space sits above, offering breathtaking views. This layout was designed to evoke the feeling of being high in the treetops, like a bird enjoying the peace and clarity of the open sky.
